We currently have a vacancy for a social media specialist.

This role is based at our premises just outside Cambridge and, although some home working may be possible following induction, applicants should be within sensible daily commuting distance of our offices.

 


Social Media Specialist

We are looking for an experienced and creative social media specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for content creation and implementing our social media and web strategies to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts.

 

Job duties and responsibilities:
  • Developing, implementing and managing creative and engaging social media and web strategies
  • Managing the day-to-day handling of all our social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
  • Overseeing, planning and delivering content across social media platforms, optimising the company’s pages within each and using scheduling tools where appropriate
  • Working with in-house copywriters and graphic designers to ensure that our content is informative and appealing, and developing the on-line content including contributions to text, graphics and video preparation
  • Contributing to the development, launch and management of campaigns that promote our brand
  • Creating editorial calendars
  • Staying up to date with the latest social media and web best practices and technologies
  • Responding to social media posts and developing discussions
  • Monitoring, tracking, analysing and reporting on performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights, and reporting upon the success of our social media and web campaigns
  • Researching and evaluating the latest trends and techniques, and recommending improvements to increase performance
  • Monitoring SEO and user engagement and suggesting content optimisation
  • Collaborating with the commercial team
Essential skills and experience:
  • Three or more years of social media experience including planning and managing content in a corporate or agency setting
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media
  • Excellent content creation skills for text, graphics and video production
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A B.Sc in marketing or a relevant field
Additional useful skills and experience may include:
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • A good understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • A good understanding of social media KPIs
