CEDAR to present the introductory tutorial at the 33rd AES International Conference on Audio Forensics

AES 33rd International Conference

22 May 2008

The 33rd AES International Conference wil cover many aspects of audio and its connections with modern forensic science, and Gordon Reid, Managing Director of CEDAR Audio Ltd, will be presenting the introductory tutorial - "An Introduction to Forensic Audio" - on the opening day. This will cover topics including the need for audio forensics, the tools and techniques used, and some of the pitfalls encountered when bringing evidence to court. The presentation will be illustrated by the real-time processing of genuine examples of forensic audio.

The conference will also explore the history, hardware, and techniques of forensic investigation of audio materials. The field has gone through significant advances with the advent of digital audio recording, signal processing, and computer-assisted evaluation, and the appropriate use of these processes can provide the modern audio engineer with powerful tools to support the law enforcement and security communities.

The 33rd AES International Conference will be held from 5 - 7 June 2008 at the University of Colorado and the Sheraton Hotel, Denver.
