Following the success of inaugural CEDAR Awards in 1998, CEDAR Audio are delighted to announce the 1999 CEDAR Awards.
Marketing Manager, Deborah Coral explains, "CEDAR is very well known for CD remastering, as well as in the film and video industries. But the range of nominations for the 1998 Awards demonstrated how our products can be applied to a far wider range of audio problems. For example, numerous court cases have been won (or defended) using evidence provided by CEDAR-processed recordings. In another area, a national broadcaster used CEDAR to clean up recordings from the early part of the 20th century for its millenium project. Finding out about projects of this type and strengthening relationships with many of our customers was very rewarding. Equally so was receiving nominations from countries as unexpected as Brasil, Colombia, and South Korea as well as our traditional markets in Europe, North America and the Far East. As a result, we are delighted to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2nd annual CEDAR Awards which will be presented at the 107th AES Convention in New York later this year."
There are six awards, five of which recognise outstanding contributions in the field of audio restoration. Nominations are invited in each of the following categories:
CEDAR Audio will again present a special Award to one of its dealers to recognise exceptional performance over the past 12 months.
Nominations are invited from all interested parties, and candidates may propose themselves without prejudicing their chances of success. Clive Osborn will be overseeing the nomination process, and he will be pleased to answer all questions relating to the Awards.
