Alan French returns to CEDAR Forensic

CEDAR Forensic

18 May 2010

CEDAR Audio is delighted to announce the return of Alan French to the company after three years working for a mobile telephone forensic investigation company.

French, for fifteen years a Technical Officer with the Metropolitan Police Forensic Audio Laboratory, is one of the most respected experts in this field. He is well known to the police and legal communities, and has been credited with introducing many audio enhancement techniques. He brings with him over 25 years experience as an expert witness, and has dealt with thousands of criminal and civil cases, giving evidence in many of them.

In addition to audio enhancement, French specialises in tape transcription and authentication, as well as the design and equipping of enhancement laboratories and listening facilities. He has trained and given guidance to many police and security personnel, and has extensive expertise in the area of covert surveillance.

Says French, "I was very sad to leave CEDAR Forensic in 2007 for family reasons, and was delighted when the opportunity to return arose. I have been able to pick up from where I left off, and it feels almost as if I have just been on an extended sabbatical. I'm really excited by the innovations that have occurred while I was away, and am looking forward to helping further develop these over the next few years."

Gordon Reid, Managing Director of CEDAR Audio adds, "We are delighted that Alan has returned to us. CEDAR is his spiritual home, and we are looking forward to advancing CEDAR Forensic with him for many years to come. This will encompass not just the development of new and improved noise suppression and speech enhancement systems, but important new facilities such as the opening of a new training facility for our customers, whether in the UK or elsewhere in the world."

As well as handling all sales of CEDAR's forensic systems, French is available for training, consultation and evidential work.
