The CEDAR DNS1000 cleans up on Ghost Whisperer

CEDAR DNS1000 audio restoration system used on Ghost Whisperer

15 August 2007

A CEDAR DNS1000 is being used in Burbank as part of the mixing tools for Ghost Whisperer. Roberta Doheny, who mixes the show alongside Bob Edmondson at Smart Post Sound and on Dub Stage 1 at Universal Studios says, "We have some of the best engineers in the world here. They're constantly keeping the equipment updated. It's a fabulous environment. The CEDAR works like a very gentle gate. You can reduce background noise in the production tracks without hurting the sound of the dialog."

The DNS1000 Dynamic Noise Suppressor is a free-standing unit designed for audio post, live broadcast, and forensic audio. With virtually zero latency, its 40-bit multi-band processing is ideal for removing unwanted noise from location sound, sound effects and dialogue.
